...and now he has a puppet
Lost Voice Guy has announced his first UK tour for five years – and this time accompanied by a puppet.
The Britain's Got Talent-winning comic – real name Lee Ridley – is the first stand-up comedian to use a communication aid, and now he’s planning to add a foam-based version of himself to his performance.
He said: ‘I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road again. Travelling the country is one of the few times people are genuinely pleased to see a disabled bloke turn up unexpectedly.
‘There's nothing better than performing live and hearing an audience laugh, as long as I remember to keep my iPad charged, otherwise it's a very long 90 minutes of awkward eye contact.
‘I can't wait to get back out there, and hopefully I'll make it to the encore before I have to ask if anyone's got a USB-C charger.’
And announcing the news on Instagram, Ridley added: ‘This is probably my most personal show yet, but don't worry, it's still packed with the jokes, stories and questionable life choices you'd expect from me.’
Since becoming the first comedian to win BGT – in 2018 – Ridley says he has been congratulated in the street for winning The X Factor, accused online of having a ‘backstage comedian’ secretly writing his jokes, and told he must live in a mansion at the taxpayer’s expense.
The Cerebral Palsy Puppet tour kicks off at the Brighton Komedia on February 4 and runs to May 10, concluding at The Stand in Newcastle.
Its blurb says: ‘Armed with his trusty iPad and absolutely no filter, the man with cerebral palsy who also suffers from being a Geordie takes aim at talent shows, dating disasters, Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Department for Work and Pensions’ hold music.’
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.
In other tour news, Jack Skipper has announced 38 dates for the first half of 2027 for his new show called Nothing Heavy, promising ‘a laugh – nothing heavy’. Dates
And earlier today, Tom Allen announced a year-long stand-up tour, called Totally, starting in October next year. Dates
