More than 200 complain over deepfake Queen

Ofcom to consider Channel 4's alternative message

More than 200 people complained about Channel 4's deepfake version of the Queen’s speech.

In the alternative message, shown on Christmas Day, Dead Ringers impressionist Debra Stephenson voiced a digitally-created version of the Monarch.

Her speech included jokes about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's move to the US and a dance for TikTok.

Ofcom say the have received 214 complaints over the broadcast, which will now be assessed them before deciding whether to investigate.

Channel 4's alternative message has been viewed more than 1.4million times on YouTube alone.
