US release for Simon Bird's Days of The Bagnold Summer

Distribution deal signed

Simon Bird’s directorial debut is to get a US cinema release.

Distributor Greenwich Entertainment has picked up the rights to Days of The Bagnold Summer, for a release on the big screen and online from February 19.

The film follows  a strained holiday trip to the British seaside taken by single mum Sue (Monica Dolan) and her moody son (Earl Cave) after a planned American trip fell through.   Rob Brydon and Tim Key co-star, and Belle & Sebastian provided the soundtrack.

Inbetweeners star Bird said: ‘I’m thrilled that, in a period of extraordinary disruption to international travel, this film about a cancelled US  summer vacation has found its way across the Atlantic

‘Rest assured it will be following all quarantine regulations to the letter.

The film is based on the graphic novel by Joff Winterhart with a screenplay by Lisa Owens, who married to Bird.
