Comic picks up an award

Kevin Hart has made his first public appearance since his devastating car crash.

The comic has been in rehab since fracturing his spine in the accident in California in September

But he was at the E! People's Choice Awards in Santa Monica last night to accept the award for comedy act of the year.

‘Thank God because I definitely don't have to be here, he told the star-studded audience. ‘Being that I am, it makes me appreciate life even more. It makes me appreciate the things that really matter: family. I wanna thank my wife and my kids who really stepped up to the plate for me.

He thanks the fans who voted for him, saying: 'You have no idea of the effect you have on us as entertainers. Your energy and support, it means the world. I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me during my difficult time.’
