Event returns to newly revamped venue

The first shows in this year’s Balham Comedy Festival have been announced.

Al Murray, Milton Jones, Angela Barnes,  Marcus Brigstocke, Ed Byrne, Omid Djalili and Simon Evans are among the comedians who will be performing solo sets.

Taking place at the newly refurbished Bedford pub in South London – home of the long-running Banana Cabaret club – the eighth annual event takes place from July 5 to 13..

It is produced by Banana’s Dave Vickers and veteran stand-up John Moloney, and tickets go on general sale on June 3 via the festival website.
