Robin Ince’s traditional Nine Lessons and Carols for Curious People is to be staged in Greater Manchester for the first time.

The annual celebration of science and comedy will be performed at the Lowry in Salford on November 29 and 30 ahead of its usual run in London.

There will also be a special afternoon performance int he capital, curated especially for families.

The London dates are December 12, 13, 19 and 21 at Kings Place in King’s Cross, with the matinee on December 15.

Line-ups have not yet been revealed, but previous guests have included Professor Brian Cox, Stewart Lee, Josie Long and Zippy.

Profits from the London shows will go to charity, while audiences will be encouraged to bring donations for the food banks run by The Trussell Trust.

Ince and Cox will also be fronting their usual Christmas Compendium of Reason at the Hammersmith Apollo in December, with the date yet to be confirmed.
