Stan & Ollie tops UK box office

Nudging The Favourite into second place

Stan & Ollie has topped the box office charts in UK cinemas in its opening weekend.

The biopic, starring John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan as Laurel and Hardy, grossed £2.41million on its first three days on release.

It was just £10,000 more than second-placed The Favourite took over the weekend. The film is in its second week on release and has been boosted by Olivia Colman winning a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Queen Anne.

The box office figures were reported on ScreenDaily.
