Comedian and Neighbours star gets his skates on

Comedian and former Neighbours actor Mark Little has joine Dancing on Ice.

The stand-up played Joe Mangel on the Aussie soap at its peak, from 1988 to 1991, and made a limited comeback in 2005.

Aside from small roles in Casualty, Emmerdale and Alan Davies sitcom Whites, Little has not been seen on TV since then, but occasionally writing and performing comedy.

‘How exciting this is!’ he said of the Dancing on Ice news. ‘My skating is pretty rickety. I’ll be trying to find the elegance, the strength, the smoothness.

‘ I’m a bit of a danger man, a bit of a risk taker, and I do like dancing so let’s see what happens.’

And the 58-year-old told Build London: ‘I'm not a youngster, but it's not about age, it's about poise!’

Also in the line-up are reality TV star Gemma Collins, comedian turned EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood, singer Brian McFadden, Loose Women's Saira Khan, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, and Pussycat Dolls' Melody Thornton.

Dancing on Ice returns to ITV in the New Year.
