Accolades for 'the architects of great storytelling'

Famalam, Timewasters, Derry  Girls, Sick Note and Motherlands have been shortlisted in the TV comedy category  of the  British Screenwriters' Awards.

And The Death Of Stalin team is up for Best British feature film writing against the writers of Darkest Hour, Lady Macbeth, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,  and I Am Not A Witch.

Organisers say their aim is to ‘put the originators and architects of great storytelling front and centre’.

The awards are now in their fifth year and will be handed out on Saturday September 8.

Famalam is written by Tom Marshall and Akemnji Ndifornyen; Timewasters by Daniel Lawrence Taylor and Barunka O’Shaughnessy; Derry Girls by Lisa McGee; Sick Note by Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz; and Motherland by Graham Linehan, Sharon Horgan, Helen Linehan and Holly Walsh.
