Could you enter the the Jewish New Comedian Of The Year?
Entries have opened for the Jewish New Comedian Of The Year competition.
The winner receives a three-hour comedy class with tutor Jill Edwards, including transport to her base in Brighton, a headshot from top comedy photographer Steve Ullathorne and – like all the finalists – a video of their performance
The competition is run by the JW3 Jewish community centre in London, and entries close on September 14.
It is open to emerging comedians of any age who have not been performing regularly on the circuit for more than three years and who self-define as ‘Jewish’.
Entrants have to answer questions such as: ‘What is the most Jewish experience you’ve ever had?’

• Entries are also currently being accepted for the third Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize for comic works, with the chance to win £10,000, or two ‘highly commended’ awards of £1,500. Comic Katie Mulgrew won the first prize in 2015, and had her play Omnibus commissioned last year by the city’s Unity Theatre. The deadline for entries is Sunday July 22. Apply here.
