James O’Brien makes Have I Got News For You debut

With Roisin Conaty and Alexander Armstrong

LBC presenter James O’Brien will be making his Have I Got News For You debut when the topical panel show returns this Friday.

He will be appearing alongside Roisin Conaty and host Alexander Armstrong – making a record-breaking 30tj appearance in the middle chair.

O’Brien said: ‘Have I Got News For You has always been at the absolute top of my TV wish list, but now that it looks like I’m going to be on it, I’m paralysed with nerves.’

The radio presenter has occasionally hosted BBC Two’s Newsnight and had his own short-lived ITV daytime talk show in 2015.

And last month he told of how he was still haunted by the time he was humiliated by stand-up Micky Hutton when he was in the audience of the Comedy Store. He will be hoping his appearance on HIGNFY will go better than that.

Have I Got News For You is on BBC One at 9pm on Friday.
