Stephen Buchanan nominated for an RTS Award

For his short The Dead Don’t Care

Stephen Buchanan’s short The Dead Don’t Care has been nominated for a Scottish Royal Television Society Awars in the ‘short form’ category.

Made for Channel 4’s pilot strand Playgrounds, the film starred the comedian as  Eden, a psychic who brings closure to the grieving by channelling their weird dead relatives.

He said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be nominated for an RTS award. It was such a fun experience and the whole team were a dream to work with.’.

It also starred starred Mark Dallas, Louise Stewart, Darren Connell, Stuart McPherson.

RTS Scotland have been announcing nominees across the month. It has previously been announced that Ashley Storrie’s Dinosaur,  Only Child starting  starring Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh and the sketch show Stevens & McCarthy have been nominated in the comedy category. 

Last year the BBC released Buchanan’s short Cable Tied,  about two inept burglars, wilt  while he has also filmed another BBC comedy pilot this year.  

The RTS Scotland Awards  will be handed out on Friday  June 6 in Glasgow.
