Six more episodes next year

The BBC has commissioned a second series of The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show to air next year.

News of the order of six more 45-minute episodes comes ahead of the final episode airing on BBC Two tonight.

Series one launched last month with a 750,000 overnight audience, while the BBC have been keen to triumph its success on  social media. A clip showing Lou Sanders retching  as she read a ‘rancid’  story about a man eating something that he came to realise wasn’t mayonnaise  has attracted 2.5 million views on TikTok

In a statement, the Ramseys said: ‘We are so over the moon that the first series of The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show didn’t end in us getting divorced that we are willing to roll the dice and do it all again. There are so many more celebrity couples we want to have a laugh with, so many more members of the public whose beefs we want to hear and so many more bits of tat that we want to destroy.’

Celebrity couples who have appeared in the show so far include Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, Martin and  Shirlie Kemp, Tom Fletcher and  Giovanna Fletcher and, tonight,  musician and presenter Fleur East with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin.

Katie Taylor, commissioning editor for BBC Entertainment said: ‘Chris and Rosie Ramsey helped share the raw and funny side of both celebrity and members of the public’s relationships, where we saw something of ourselves in each and every one. We are so glad that their raucous joy will be returning to BBC Two next year.’

The show follows the success of their hit podcast Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed, which has also spawned a best-selling book and a tour that broke the Guinness world record for the biggest live podcast show, playing venues including Wembley Arena and The O2 Arena, in London. More dates have been announced for late 2023.
