When does Inside No 9 return for series 7?

BBC sets air date

The seventh series of Inside No 9 is to start on April 20, the BBC has revealed – as a teaser trailer has been released.

Episode one will reunite creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith with their former League of Gentlemen partner Mark Gatiss. Entitled Merrily, Merrily, it stars Shearsmith as Lawrence, who has arranged a special reunion on a boat for his old university friends. But as they strike out across the remote lake, ‘their conversation takes them into troubled waters’.

The episode also stars Diane Morgan, who previously told Graham Norton that she bought a supply of adult nappies to the shoot as she didn’t want to get caught short while filming in the middle of the lake for hours.

‘I was terrified because my bladder is the size of a walnut, ‘ she said. ‘So I ordered some adult nappies because I was so scared of being that one person that needed the loo. I thought I was getting a pack of 12 but in fact I got a box of 500 – they are still in the garage.  I have to say, I never deployed them.’

Details have previously emerged about another episode in the series, Mr. King, pictured above, about a passionate teacher who starts work at a small village primary school in Wales.

Other guest stars over the series include Jessica Hynes, Daisy Haggard, and Daniel Mays.

When filming started last year, Shearsmith and Pemberton promised ‘surprises that will make your jaws drop and spines tingle. Heads might even roll, and if not heads, definitely eyes’.
