Channel 4 pays tribute to Sean Lock

Broadcaster rips up schedules to air his shows

Channel 4 has ripped up its schedules tomorrow to pay tribute to Sean Lock.

When the stand-up's death at the age of 58 was announced this morning, the broadcaster tweeted: ‘Incredibly sad to learn of the loss of one of our greatest comedians, Sean Lock

‘A much loved part of the C4 family, he’s played a huge role on the channel for over 2 decades and we’ll miss him.  Our thoughts are with his family and friends.’

Now it has scheduled his  2017 stand-up special, Keep it Light, to air at 10pm on Thursday. That will be followed at 11.05pm by a classic episode of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown in which he appeared.

The programmes replace an episode of Gogglebox and Sarah Millican’s stand-up special, Control Enthusiast.

Fans have also been calling on the BBC to repeat his cult sitcom 15 Storeys High,  or make it available via iPlayer. The show, co-starring Benedict Wong, originally aired  from 1998 to 2000
