Kurupt FM: The documentary about the mockumentary

BBC to tell the People Just Do Nothing story

The BBC is making a celebration of People Just Do Nothing to coincide with the release of the new film about the Kurupt FM crew.

Creators and stars Allan Mustafa, Steve Stamp, Asim Chaudhry and Hugo Chegwin are all taking part in the documentary, Kurupting The Industry, for BBC Three’s iPlayer channel.

The 45-minute programme will chart their roots from the 2010 online mockumentary series about the release of  People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan in cinemas on August 18.

Fellow cast members Lily Brazier and Dan Sylvester, director Jack Clough, producer Jon Petrie and executive producer Ash Atalla will also take part in the show. Petrie has just landed the top job in BBC comedy: director of comedy commissioning.

BBC commissioning editor Ben Caudell said: 'It's the ultimate rags to riches story: the journey that the PJDN gang made from online amateurs to full-fledged professional movie idols is an incredible one and a fascinating insight into how doing your own thing can build to comedy superstardom.’

All episodes of People Just Do Nothing are available to view now on BBC iPlayer.
