Comedians to play Fringe dates in a converted car park

Jason Byrne, Fred MacAulay and Maisie Adam have announced Edinburgh Fringe dates – in a converted car park.

They are among the acts announced today for MultiStory, a new collaboration between the Zoo, Gilded Balloon, Traverse Theatre and Dance Base venues.

Based at the NCP Castle Terrace Car Park, this new outdoor venue in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle will host comedy, theatre, dance, family, music and poetry performances from August  6 to 21.

MacAulay will host a Fred MacAulay and Friends showcase with guests including  Adam, Chris Forbes and Susie McCabe.

Also, Glasgow-based writer, actor and viral TikTok comedy star Paul Black will perform his sketch show Worst Case Scenario while Gary: Tank Commander actress Leah McCrae will perform her comedy show My Big, Fat, Fabulous Diary.

The dates for Byrne’s show Audience Precipitation, are in addition to those he already announced at the Corn Exchange - the venue just outside the city centre being programmed by global promoters Live Nation.

Other shows at MultiStory include  Sunshine on Leith performed by Captivate Theatre, a debut from Edinburgh drag queen Alice Rabbit, and performances from former poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy with musician John Sampson.

Most shows at the venue, sponsored by Edinburgh brewery Innis & Gunn, go on sale at https://multistory.scot/ today, with others to be added later in the month.
