More names have been announced for the only Edinburgh Fringe venue so far confirmed for this year’s festival

Comedians Jason Bryne, Andrew Maxwell, Mark Nelson, Kiri Pitchard-Mclean will all be performing one-offs or short runs at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

Kiri Pitchard-Mclean will also be presenting a live performance of her All Killa No Filla podcast with Rachel Fairburn.

And promotion giant Live Nation, which is programming the venue, has also announced a tie-in with the local Stand comedy club to offer stand-up gigs at the venue.

It follows the previous announcement of Craig Hill, Daniel Sloss and Henning Wehn at the venue, which is in the suburb of Chesser – and big enough to allow social distancing.

Ian Coburn from Live Nation said: ‘We are thrilled to announce more exciting acts… and we cannot wait to announce more very soon.

‘We do believe this will bring certainty for Fringe performers in such uncertain times; all while providing a much-needed, great night of live entertainment.’

Nelson will be performing on August 5th and 12th; Pitchard-Mclean on the 15th, Bryrne from the 18th to 21st and Maxwell on 27th.

The venue has  two rooms with capacities of 100 to 400 with social distancing in place; more if rules are relaxed. Normally it can host gigs for up to 1,000 people.

Currently venues in Scotland must operate with two-metre distancing indoors, which would be ruinous for most bars, clubs and Fringe operators. An update is expected to be announced on June 7.

Tickets for the previously announced gigs are on sale now; and the new shows will be released at 10am on Friday.
