Launch date revealed

Taskmaster is to launch on Channel 4 at 9pm on Thursday October  15, the broadcaster has announced today.

It has also been revealed that all previous nine series will be moving to catch-up service All4 on the same date, after C4 poached the series from Dave.

Six series will be made for the new broadcaster across the next three years, with  Greg Davies remaining all-powerful Taskmaster with series creator Alex Horne as his sidekick.

The contestant this season - the tenth - are  This Country’s Daisy May Cooper, the IT Crowd’s Katherine Parkinson and comedians Johnny Vegas, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring.

When the move to Channel 4 was announced last year, Horne said: ‘It seems like the right time to move to a channel with a broader audience and I can reassure people who like the show that it won’t be changing one bit and I’ll still be forced to do things no one should ever have to do.’
