Organiser Josh Kinnersley said: ‘The Edinburgh festival should have been in full swing just now so hopefully what we’re putting on around Scotland will give people a taste of what they’re missing.’ The gig had been planned for last week, but was put back, tickets.

BEXHILL-ON-SEA: Eddie Izzard is performing a string of gigs on the rooftop of the De La Warr Pavilion in East Sussex this week, raising money for his hometown venue. Tickets.

Saturday August 15

BRIGHTON: The Krater comedy club is back… but moving from its usual home at the Komedia to the outdoor stage that The Warren has erected on the beach next to Brighton Pier. And what a lineup they have too, with regular, quick-witted host Stephen Grant introducing the quirky one-liners of Milton Jones and the supercilious commentary of Simon Evans at the 6.15pm show. Ribald Ninia Benjamin replaces Jones for the 8.15pm performance.
