Romesh Ranganathan takes over as League Of Their Own host

For six of the next eight episodes

Romesh Ranganathan has effectively taken over as host of Sky panel show A League of Their Own.

The comic is presenting six out of the eight episodes in the 15th series of the sports quiz, which will be returning on August 20.

James Corden stood down as permanent host last season because of his commitments with his US talk show, but still presented two episodes, as part of a rotating roster that also included Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Ranganathan.

However, the coronavirus outbreak has stopped Corden from coming to the UK to film the new series, allowing Ranganathan to step in. Team captains Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff will each host one episode, too,

Producers say they are ‘working hard to have [Corden] involved in some way,’ in the new series.

Episodes were filmed last month at Elstree Studios, but without a studio audience, with the teams try their hand at new sporting challenges including BMX and badminton.

Confirmed sporting guests include Tony Bellew, Heather Watson, Andy Murray, Eric Dier and Anthony Joshua.
