The Marvelous Mrs Maisel leads shortlists

John Oliver, What We Do In The Shadows, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hannah Gadsby  have all been nominated for Emmy awards.

But Amazon’s comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel dominated the shortlists, with 20 nods.

Waller-Bridge was nominated as host of Saturday Night Live, which has been nominated for 15 awards.

Gadsby was twice-nominated for her Netflix special, facing off against such fellow big-hitters as Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, John Mulaney and Tiffany Haddish.

What We Do In The Shadows secured eight nominations, including three separate nods for best comedy writing.

In drama, Netflix’s Ozark and HBO’s Succession - written by Peep Show’s Jesee Armstron – notched up  18 nominations each.

In other categories, Tracey Ullman is nominated for supporting actress in a limited series or movie for her role in Mrs America, while Tituss Burgess is up in the male version of the same category for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend.
