Tom Allen’s UK travel show FINALLY comes to Channel 4
Tom Allen’s UK travel show pilot is to air on Channel 4 this December, the broadcaster has announced.
As Chortle first reported in August last year, Tom Allen Goes To Town has the comic hosting a comedy entertainment show from a local venue at the end of a week there.
The pilot episode comes from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, with Allen staying with a local family as he meets local characters.
‘Along the way, he takes in one of the world’s biggest rhubarb crops, explores Wakefield’s beautiful cathedral, visits one of the only drive-in fish and chip shops in the world and buys a round of Wakefield’s famous steak pies,’ Channel 4 says.
Made by Rumpus Media, the show has been unveiled as part of Channel 4’s autumn schedule today.
The broadcaster also confirmed that Greg Davies and Alex Horne will return in Taskmaster this autumn, after they poached the format from the Dave channel, although the exact broadcast date and the comedians taking part has not yet been announced,
And O-T Fagbenle’s Maxxx, a former boyband star turned drug-shamed tabloid laughing stock, will finally be launched in the autumn, too. The first episode aired in April, but the rest of the series was inexplicably pulled from the schedules (Review)
