Curb Your Enthusiasm to return for its 11th series

Larry David will be back

Larry David is to make an 11th season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, broadcaster HBO has revealed.

The cable channel always said it would renew the show as long as the Seinfeld co-creator wanted to do it.

Programming executive vice-president Amy Gravitt said: ‘This past season tapped into the zeitgeist in such an uncomfortably delightful way. Larry is already brainstorming ideas, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store’

David added: ‘Believe me, I’m as upset about this as you are. One day I can only hope that HBO will come to their senses and grant me the cancellation I so richly deserve.’

Curb Your Enthusiasm began in 2001 and has run for 100 episodes. The last series, which aired from January, revolved around David being accused of sexual harassment, and setting up a coffee shop next door to his regular, Mocha Joe’s, out of spite.

HBO said: ‘The comedy series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one's day-to-day life – a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush – can precipitate a chain of misfortune to hilarious effect.

‘To keep the narrative spontaneous, the series is shot without a script and cast members are given scene outlines and improvise lines as they go.’

This series co-stars Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, J.B. Smoove  and Ted Danson, whi are expected to return.
