Hannah Gadsby reveals release date for her next Netflix special

Douglas out on May 26

Hannah Gadsby has announced that her new Netflix special, Douglas, will be released on May 26.

The show is the follow-up to her show Nanette, which caused such a stir in the comedy world for its uncompromising take on the sexism and homophobia she had suffered in he life.

In Douglas, she further talks about the toxic effects of the patriarchy, as well as discussing how Nanette transformed her life, claps back at critics who said what she does ‘isn’t comedy’ and reveals an autism diagnosis that helped her make sense of life.

Gadsby released an Instagram, video to announce the news of Douglas’s release last night telling fans: ‘I’m excited… for you to see it.

‘It’s gonna be good. Unless you don't like it... then it's still gonna be good. And you'll be wrong.’

And in the caption, she added: 'Be sure to mark it in your socially-distant calendars... then wash your hands.’

The show, which is named after both her dog and a Scottish anatomist , was filmed in Los Angeles in February at the end of a long global tour.
