Duncanville gets a second series

Fox renews Amy Poehler's comedy, shown on C4 here

Amy Poehler's new animated comedy Duncanville has been renewed for a second season.

The news comes midway through the broadcast of the first season on Fox in America and Channel 4 in the UK.

It revolves around a spectacularly average’ 15-year-old called Duncan, voiced by the Parks and Recreation star, and his family.

Fox’s president of entertainment Michael Thorn said: ‘Duncan may be an average teen. However, the show is anything but, and we can't wait for a brand-new season of Harris family adventures.’

Poehler  teamed up with  Simpsons showrunner Mike Scully and his wife Julie, a writer on the Springfield-set cartoon, to create the show.

Ty Burrell – Phil Dunphy in Modern Family – plays dad Jack, a rock-obsessed plumber; Riki Lindhome, from musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates, is his teenage sister Kimberley; and Grey’s Anatomy actress Joy Osmanski his younger sister Jing.

Another Parks and Rec alumnus, Rashida Jones, plays a recurring role of Duncan’s crush Mia, while rapper Wiz Khalifa is a teacher called Mr Mitch.

In the States, Duncanville  has averaging 2.3million total multiplatform viewers and is Fox's most-streamed new comedy.
