BBC Scotland orders another Billy Connolly documentary

Career retrospective and 'social history'

Billy Connolly has made another series about his career and how it links to his native Scotland.

The four-part series, Billy And Us, is billed as both a retrospective of the Glaswegian comic’s career and a ‘social history of Scotland’.

It follows the success of last year’s BBC Two series Made In Scotland, in which followed the Big Yin’s return to his homeland and covered his roots in the Clydebank shipyards and rise through the folk circuit.

The new show is being made by BBC Scotland, whose head, Steve Carson, said: ‘The new series with Billy Connolly will see him talk through his life, his career and the work he has created, but it will also function as a social history of the last 50-odd years.’

Billy And Us will air later this year.
