...and Russell Kane will teach them

Russell Kane is to teach celebrities how to become stand-up comedians in a new Channel 4 show.

Five as-yet-unnamed stars will be taken out of their comfort zone and given some of the tips of the trade before facing a live audience a special gala performance.

The show, Stand Up And Deliver, has been likened to Faking It, which aired for seven series until 2006 and revolved around people learning different trades each episode.

Channel 4 commissioning editor Becky Cadman said: 'Making a hard-bitten comedy audience laugh is surely one of the scariest challenges on television and following our plucky cast as they prepare to perform promises to be huge fun.​

Stand Up And Deliver is being made by The Only Way Is Essex producers Lime Pictures, whose executive Sarah Tyekiff promised it would be 'comedy gold'.
