Playing a mouse footman alongside James Corden

Romesh Ranganathan is to star in a new movie version of Cinderella.

The comic has been lined up to play one of the mice footmen alongside fellow comedians John Mulaney and James Corden.

Corden’s company Fullwell 73 is producing the film for Sony, with Camila Cabello, who shot to fame through X Factor USA, in the title role.

According to Hollywood website Deadline, Minnie Driver is set to play Queen Beatrice, with Missy Elliott in talks to play the Town Crier.

The cast of the musical comedy also includes Pierce Brosnan, Billy Porter and Idina Menzel.

Shooting starts this week with the film due to open in February next year.
