Samson Kayo's pizza-delivery sitcom gets another series

Dave has ordered a second series of Sliced, the comedy starring  Samson Kayo and Theo Barklem Biggs as pizza delivery guys.

The new order is for six 40-minute episodes, up from the three which aired over consecutive nights last May.

Kayo – who writes the show with PhoneShop's Phil Bowker – said, ‘We go again! I’m so excited to be back on Dave with series two. Last series was just a taster, now it’s go time! I’m looking forward to creating some more explosively funny and authentic stories with this amazingly talented team."

Pete Thornton, head of scripted programmes for channel owner UKTV. said, ‘Samson and Phil make for a formidable creative duo, the Batman and Robin of the writer/performer/just writer comedy world, and they are supported by an extraordinary cast of established talent and rising stars.’

The first episode last year attracted 361,000 viewers in the first seven days, making it Dave’s best performing show of the week after the Taskmaster juggernaut.

Series two will air later this year, although exact details have not yet been revealed.
