Set in a seaside boarding house

Vicki Pepperdine and Morgana Robinson are joining forces for a new BBC sitcom.

In Always June, Pepperdine plays the eccentric landlady of a ramshackle seafront lodging house, struggling to meet her bills.

And Robinson plays an aspiring young novelist who takes a room, looking for inspiration and a new life. ‘She may have got more than she bargained for,’ producers say. ‘Can she cope with the chaos that surrounds her new home?’

The pair also wrote the show, which is described as being ‘about love, security and finding a family’, with a one-off so far commissioned for Radio 2.

The episode will be recorded in front of a studio audience in RADA, central London, on December 16, and free tickets are available here.
