To make way for a two-hour Question Time

Bob Mortimer’s return to Would I Lie To You? has been bumped from the schedules because of a two-hour edition of Question Time.

The comic had been due back on Rob Brydon’s panel show – where he previously made such a splash – this Friday, as Chortle reported yesterday.

But since announcing the episode, the BBC ripped up the schedules to make way for the two-hour general election special.

From 7pm to 9pm, Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn, Nicola Sturgeon and Jo Swinson will take questions from the studio audience, each getting 30 minutes air time, in a show moderated by Fiona Brice. 

It means EastEnders is pushed into the 9pm slot, followed by Have I Got News For You featuring the debut appearance of Maisie Adam, at 9.30pm.

No new slot has yet been announced for Mortimer’s Would I Lie To You? episode. On the following Friday, November 29, Still Open All Hours is taking the 9pm slot.

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage – who is not standing MP himself – gets his own Question Time half-hour at 10.45pm tomorrow. The latest Survation poll showed support for his party has slumped to 5 per cent, just ahead of the Greens on 3 per cent.
