Award-winning Horndog to be taped in the West End

Rose Matafeo is to record her first hour-long special next year.

The New Zealand comedian will tap her 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show in London’s West End in January.

It has not been disclosed how the special would be distributed but Matafeo is represented by comedy agency Avalon, which recently struck a deal with Amazon to release several of their clients’ specials on Prime Video.

Shows from Chris Ramsey, Ed Gamble, Flo & Joan and Paul Chowdhry are already streaming on the platform, with offerings from Rob Delaney and Jayde Adams still to come.

Matafeo – whose string of TV appearances includes being a competitor on the last series of Taskmaster – will be recording Horndog over two performances at The Ambassadors Theatre on Friday  January 17 at 7pm and 9:30pm. Tickets are available here.

She is currently working on her debut sitcom Starstruck with BBC Three which has been picked up by HBO Max in the US, ABC in Australia, and TVNZ in New Zealand. She also stars the feature film Baby Done which is set to release next year.
