Amazon to air Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's ghost-hunting comedy

Truth Seekers goes into production next month

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg’s comedy-horror series Truth Seekers is to be released on Amazon Prime, the streaming service has announced.

The pair will star in the programme, about a ghost-hunting duo who use homemade gizmos to investigate paranormal sightings across the UK in places such as haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals.

Their supernatural experiences grow more terrifying as they uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.
Frost told Hollywood trade magazine Variety: ‘It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance.

‘Amazon’s commitment and support of the show, and of original programming generally, showed us that we couldn’t be collaborating with a bigger or better team.’

Pegg added: ‘These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.’

Production on the eight half-hour episodes, first announced last January, starts in September. Pegg and Frost are co-writing with Sick Note creators Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, while The Wrong Mans’ Jim Field Smith will direct.
