BBC Radio Wales orders a second series of Relocation

Witness protection sitcom from Robin Morgan

BBC Radio Wales has commissioned a second series of Relocation, written by and starring Welsh stand-up Robin Morgan, to be broadcast next year.

The first series featured a metropolitan couple, played by Upstart Crow’s Helen Monks and comedian Clint Edward) being relocated to the Welsh Valleys after being put into witness protection. They have to deal with the threat of being discovered, not helped by the incompetent local police, played by Steve Speirs and Morgan.

The programme also starred Beth Granville and Vern Griffiths, with more cast being added for the second series. Robin Morgan will again direct the series.

Four new episodes will be recorded later this year, before being broadcast in the spring. It will again be produced by Zipline Creative.

Morgan said: ‘I’m so happy we’re getting the band back together. We had such fun making the first series, and I truly believe we made friends for life. The kind of friends who only see each other once a year when we’re recording this programme which we’re contractually obliged to take part in. I can’t wait! Time to fire up the WhatsApp group.’

Morgan’s other writing credits include topical comedies The Mash Report and The News Quiz. He was awarded the BBC Radio Comedy Contract Writer’s Bursary in 2016 and is performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year.
