Danny Baker makes a comeback

Sacked broadcaster to launch a podcast - just like the old show

Sacked broadcaster Danny Baker is to return the microphone with a twice-weekly podcast next year,

The BBC fired  Baker last month after a joke tweet about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's baby backfired.

He was accused of racism after posting a vintage picture of a posh couple with a chimpanzee dressed in clothes with the caption: ‘Royal Baby leaves hospital’.

Baker claimed it was a post about class and that the racial element hadn’t occurred to him, but the BBC sacked him from his 5 Live programme amid countless protests.

Now the 61-year-old has announced on social media that he will be back. He posted: ‘My own stand-alone podcast featuring all the old firm and even the Sausage Sandwich Game, will begin in the new year. Emails encouraged, calls taken, subjects bizarre

The tweet ended with the hashtag ‘#CandyManReturns’ – using his radio nickname.
