Sara Pascoe to make a new BBC Two travel show

Seeking the world’s most endangered jobs

Sara Pascoe is to make a new travel show for BBC Two in which she tries to find the world’s most endangered jobs.

The broadcaster has commissioned two hour-long episodes from the comedian who earlier this year crossed Turkey with blind entrepreneur Amar Latif for the BBC Two one-off Travelling Blind.

In the new show, The Last Woman On Earth, she will be exploring skills that might soon be lost to the world under the march of technology.

Pascoe said: ‘The world is changing and I’m going to find out what that means to people’s everyday lives. This is a chance for me to learn about the history, politics, and technology of these fascinating countries and pick up new skills just as they’re about to stop existing.

‘I’m also going to do some Michael Palin and Joanna Lumley impressions and climb a really high tree even though the BBC has said they won’t insure me.’

Channel  controller Patrick Holland added: ‘Sara is a brilliant talent and I’m delighted that she’s bringing more wit and insight to BBC Two in this series about the changing world.’

Last month, Chortle also revealed that Pascoe is to host a new show for Dave in which comedians deliver stand-up in the guise of a lecture. Those appearing on Comedians Giving Lectures will include Nish KumarRussell KaneRachel ParrisDane Baptisteand Ed Gamble.
