Radio X show for Ed Gamble and Matthew Crosby

New programme starts this Sunday

Comedians Ed Gamble and Matthew Crosby are to co-host a new show on Radio X.

They will host the 8am to 11am Sunday show starting this weekend.

Crosby, of sketch troupe Pappy’s, said: ‘I’ve always wanted to know what 8am on a Sunday looks like, and what better place to find out than the studios of Radio X? I cannot wait for Ed and I to demonstrate the 3 Golden Cheers, Steve of broadcasting: Chatting, Chuckling and Churning out the hits."

Gamble added: ‘Although I agreed to this under the misapprehension that it was 8pm and not 8am, I’m still very excited to start doing a show on Radio X with Matthew. Providing he doesn’t run with his stupid idea about the 3 Golden Cs.’

Radio X was previously home to Elis James and John Robins, whose cult show ran on Saturdays and spawned a hit podcast. They quit in March after five years to join Radio 5 Live, with their first show airing last Friday.

Gamble is no stranger to podcasts. He previously co-hosted the Peacock and Gamble Podcast and now co-presents Off Menu with James Acaster.

Radio X managing editor Matt Deverson said: ‘Ed Gamble and Matthew Crosby are renowned for their sharp, witty humour and it’s hugely exciting to bring these two exceptionally talented comedians together for a show which will become a true appointment to listen.’

Radio X is on 104.9FM in London and 97.7 in Manchester, as well as online and on digital.

The station has issued this teaser clip of them presenting together.
