'A lost soul who has finally found peace'

Roy 'Chubby' Brown is in mourning after his son died at the age of 45.

The comic cancelled a series of performances last month because of a 'tragic family loss’.

He has now revealed that the tragedy was the death of his son Martin Thomas Reilly, as he was laid to rest at Teesside Crematorium. The cause of death has not been revealed.

Brown, 74, paid tribute to his son, who was a convicted drug dealer, saying: ‘[He] made me laugh and he made me cry. He was a lost soul who has finally found peace.’

Writing on social media the comic’s representatives thanked the press and public ‘for allowing him his privacy and dignity at this time of great sorrow’.

In 2009, when Reilly was 35, he was handed a four-year sentence for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
