Comedies in the running for Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2019

Including Car Share, Derry Girls, Inside No 9 and Taskmaster

Car Share, Derry Girls, Inside No 9 and Lorna Martin and Sharon Horgan’s W series Women On The Verge are in the running for best comedy at the  Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2019. 

Meanwhile, Taskmaster, Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing and Michael McIntyre's Big Show must vie with Strictly Come Dancing for the best entertainment category.

Taskmaster, Women On The Verge and Al Murray’s History series Why Does Everyone Hate the English? are in the running for the best multichannel award, alongside Sky Atlantic drama Patrick Melrose.

And for the ‘online first/streaming’ category, People Just Do Nothing and This Country face touch competition from Black Mirror’s interactive episode Bandersnatch and Phoebe Waller Bridge’s Killing Eve.

Waller-Bridge is also up for best writer, alongside Lisa McGee, the creator of  Derry Girls, and Russell T Davies for A Very English Scandal and David Nicholls  Patrick Melrose.

The winners will revealed at a ceremony in London on Friday March 15.
