John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme to return

Recording dates set for series eight

Acclaimed Radio 4 sketch show John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme is to return for an eighth series.

A couple of episodes have already been taped, with four more episodes to be recorded in London in March and April.

As ever, Cabin Pressure creator Finnemore will be joined by Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Simon Kane, Lawry Lewin and Carrie Quinlan to bring the sketches to life.

Last year’s seventh series was shortlisted for the BBC Audio Drama Awards, whose winners will be announced on Sunday. The programme has previously won a silver award at the Radio Academy awards.

Finnemore has been working on new material for the forthcoming series at a series of low-key dates in London’s Cockpit Theatre - with three more lined up... although they are all sold out.

Meanwhile, free tickets to the recordings at the BBC Radio Theatre within Broadcasting House will be allocated by a random draw, as they are usually oversubscribed. Apply at the BBC ticket site.
