LONDON: Milton Jones brings his quirky one-liners to Blackheath Hall, where he's appearing alongside sharp geezer Rich Wilson and compere Maff Brown.

WELLS: Just cast as Pike in the remake of some lost episodes of Dad's Army, Friday Night Dinner's Tom Rosenthal is the big draw at the Long Paws comedy club Little Theatre tonight, but there's also high-energy stand-up from Jarred Christmas and support from Rachel Fairburn of the All Killa No Filla podcast and Edinburgh best newcomer nominee Sarah Keyworth.

BRIGHTON: Romesh Ranganathan headlines a very strong bill at the Komedia in aid of EmbraceAbility, which helps children with disabilities in Cambodia. Also on the bill are Angela Barnes, Jen Brister, Jessica Fostekew, Joe Wilkinson and Zoe Lyons

Tuesday January 22

LONDON: An intimate gig at the Star Of Kings in Kings Cross showcases some of the most inventive and intelligent comics on the circuit, including Alice Fraser, Garrett Millerick, Jordan Brookes, Tania Edwards and Alex Kealy. Plus you'll be doing some good, as it's all in aid of UNHCR's Syria appeal.

Wednesday January 23

LONDON: In the underworld beneath Waterloo Station, the annual Vault Festival springs into life again, with a raft of avant-garde comedy shows and works-in-progress from comedians among its offerings. Today why not try quintessentially English tomfoolery from Dan Lees and Neil Frost's Fool Britannia. And on Thursday and Friday the tech onslaught of Foxdog Studios? But there's plenty to choose from.

Thursday January 24

NORWICH: Ed Gamble kicks off his fifth solo stand up tour, Blizzard, with the first two of his 44 dates at the Norwich Playhouse. According to the official blurb, the hour-long show includes the Mock The Week regular 'discussing his struggle for identity, and getting conned by a guide dog'. All the dates are here

BRIGHTON: Darren Harriott starts a very brief tour at the Komedia. His show Visceral covers how his life has changed since he was in a gang during his school days, as he starts to understand concepts such as toxic masculinity. All the dates, plus a review from the Edinburgh Fringe, are here.

Friday January 25

SHREWSBURY: Mandy Muden, the comedy magician who did so well on Britain's Got Talent last year, takes to the road with her first solo tour - Cunning Stunts. Click here for her dates.

Saturday January 26

LONDON: An amazing line-up at the Hackney Empire, with any one of the comics performing worthy of your time and money on their own. The embarrassment of riches comprises James Acaster, Lolly Adefope, Milton Jones, Tim Key and John Robins.
