Monday December 31

LONDON: New Year's Eve often isn't the best time to see comedy, with inflated prices and drunk audiences. But the newly reopened Banana Cabaret in Balham looks like a good prospect, with tickets that don't take the piss (£22.50) but comedians that do. Adam Bloom, John Moloney, Paul Tonkinson and Tania Edwards will be seeing 2018 out.

Thursday January 3

LICHFIELD: Funny charmers Brennan Reece and Laura Lexx play the George Hotel… as well as doubling up at the  Lyric Rooms in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Friday January 4

LONDON: A fine line-up at the Covent Garden Comedy Club in Heaven nigthclub includes to proven comedy talents of  Carey Marx, Phil Nichol and Robin Morgan.

BRIGHTON: Those making a return to live comedy so soon after the festive season are rewarded at the Krater Comedy Club in Komedia this weekend, as regular host Stephen Grant introduces the commanding Phil Jerrod, pun-loving idiots Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue and sharp-as-a-scythe Rhys James.
