Filming starts on pizza-delivery comedy

EastEnders and Quadrophenia star Phil Daniels has joined the cast of the forthcoming sitcom Sliced about two pizza delivery drivers.

Filming has just started on the three-part comedy for the Dave channel, which stars Famalam and Timewasters actor Samson Kayo and Theo Barklem-Biggs, from Crims and Ballot Monkeys.

Daniels – also known for EastEndplaying Grandad Trotter in the Only Fools and Horses prequel Rock & Chips and featuring on Blur's Parklife – will play  Scott, a customer who Kayo’s character Joshua crosses paths with in episode one.

Also joining the cast is David Mumeni, who played Farouk in The Windsors, as Mario, the manager of the pizza shop where the main characters work.

And Weruche Opia, who played Cleopatra in Bad Education, is Naomi, a new co-worker whom Joshua is infatuated with.

Kayo co-wrote the show with PhoneShop producer and writer Phil Bowker, whose production company  Lovely Electricity is making the three 40-minute episodes.

Kayo has said: ‘We’ve got great scripts and an amazing cast and we're really looking forward to making you fart with laughter. if we don't make you fartlaugh then as far as I'm concerned, we haven't done our job properly.’
