Comic needs stitches after a being hit on the head

Joel Dommett has been taken to hospital after injuring himself on the set of I'm A Celebrity.

The Extra Camp presenter was reportedly hit on the head with a wooden sign during rehearsals for the ITV2 spin-off programme that he co-presents.

The 32-year-old comic required seven stitches after the accident and missed last night's show which was presented by Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash without him.

Moffatt told viewers only: 'Unfortunately we're a man down as Joel isn't well, but the show must go on.'

Dommett posted a photograph of himself having the stitches on Instagram, saying: 'Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won't be able to present Extra Camp this evening.

Dommett bandages'I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I'll be back tomorrow.

'To be honest I'm less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me. Half a day off school to go home and watch Neighbours! Woo!'

He later posted a photograph of himself with his head bandaged.
