Shows will highlight culture in the capital

Comics Aurie Styla and Judi Love have landed their own shows on BBC Radio London.

The station has announced that its 8pm-10pm slot, entitled The Scene, will be hosted by a different presenter each night from November 26.

Styla – whose stand-up clip about clubbing entitled Sniper Pose went viral – will be hosting on Mondays. The BBC says  he will be ‘speaking to Londoners from all backgrounds about the cultural and entertainment scene in their communities’.

Love, who has found success with her Facebook Live weekly show, Real Talk, will host on Wednesdays with her focus on ‘discussing hot topics with artistic people along with live performances’.

Other presenters will be Claira Hermet, a grime fan and vlogger on Tuesdays; Jasmine Dotiwala a producer, director, broadcaster and columnist on Thursdays; and  poet Salma El-Wardany and spoken word artist LionHeart jointly presenting on Fridays.

BBC Radio London editor David Robey, says: ‘The Scene will be a platform for London’s community arts, entertainment and cultural activities, featuring new talent and emerging artists, performers and creators.

‘Aurie, Claira, Judi, Jasmine, Salma and Lionheart have first-hand experience and knowledge of what’s happening in London’s creative and diverse communities which they will bring to listeners every weekday evening on The Scene.’
