Growing old grudgingly

The week's comedy on demand

This week's comedy on demand:

The Kominsky Method

Chuck Lorre, America's sitcom king, is the man behind Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory and more. But don't let that put you off - his new offering for Netflix has been described as  charming, droll, sardonic, and hilariously brittle. Although other reviews have been less generous. Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin play two best friends growing old begrudgingly, with a supporting cast that includes Nancy Travis, Danny DeVito and Ann-Margaret. Watch here.

Baby Shower

A host of comedians stars in this new series of five individual sketches all linked by a common theme. Written by Annie McGrath, the art includes Camille Ucan, Lou Sanders, Harriet Kemsley, Bobby Mair, and more.

Here's episode one:

Evil Genius

Recently returned for a third series on the newly rebranded BBC Sounds platform, Russell Kane's podcast reappraises the reputations of some famous names from history. In the latest episode, Elf Lyons, Ken Cheng and Sadie Harrison talk John F Kennedy, while the other episodes this series have featured Romesh Ranganathan on Tupac Shakur and Alan Carr on Mother Theresa. Next up will be Walt Disney. Download here

Are You Feeling Funny?

Released in the summer, this series of ten podcasts features comedians including Stewart Lee, Shappi Koshandi, Phil Wang and Jamali Maddix talking about their health and well-being to Harley Street specialist Brian Kaplan. All the shows are available on iTunes and Stitcher.
