Dominic Cooper set to star in a Sky comedy

Gym-based sitcom from two creators of People Just Do Nothing

Mamma Mia! star Dominic Cooper is to play a fitness instructor in a new gym-based comedy from two of the creators of People Just Do Nothing.

Peacock is written and directed by Steve Stamp – who plays DJ Steves in the pirate radio sitcom  –  and Ben Murray, his old school friend who directed the Kurupt FM team’s YouTube content before turning to music videos.

The half-hour comedy is being piloted for Sky by Big Talk Productions, the company behind the likes of Friday Night Dinner, Cold Feet and Baby Driver.

According to Deadline, Cooper will play Andy Peacock, who works in a mid-market gym, where the punters are obsessed with selfies and Instagram.

The pilot, which will not be broadcast, will be filming in the next couple of weeks.
