The Inbetweeners are to reunite

For a ten-year anniversary celebration

The stars of The Inbetweeners are to reunite for a 10th anniversary show.

But fans hoping for a new episode may have to keep their enthusiasm in check as the reunion will be a look back at favourite moments from the show.

Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley area all taking part in the studio-based show for Channel 4.

It will include behind the scenes clips, guests, celebrity fans and some unseen footage as it considers what moments should win categories such as ‘best ever moment’ and ‘best sex scene’.

Will Macdonald, of production company Monkey Kingdom, said: ‘The love for The Inbetweeners is huge, the kind of love that Jay would boast he’s had many times – big celebrities, millions of viewers and loving fans across the globe.

‘And it’s so exciting the boys will be back together to feel that love from all those people and enjoy it first-hand. What could possibly go wrong?’

Channel 4’s Tom Beck added: ‘Will, Jay, Simon and Neil spent years failing to sneak into the best parties, so I’m very pleased to throw one that they’re definitely invited to. I just hope Will brings his Mum.’

Created and written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the coming-of-age sitcom originally aired on E4 from 2008 to 2010. A spin-off movie was released in August 2011, taking more than £57million at the box office, with a sequel following three years later.

The key cast have all admitted that the show is unlikely to return as all the characters would not be too old for their antics to be funny.

News of the reunion comes as  Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe – the love interest of Bird’s character Will – is about to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
