TRAVEL MAN: 48 HOURS IN SLOVENIA Richard Ayoade is joined by Eddie Izzard to visit the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, before a trip to Lake Bled, where they try summer tobogganing. Channel 4, 8.30pm

JOEL AND NISH VS THE WORLD: Messers Dommett and Kumar kick off a new series of their bromantic travelogue in South America, working with porters, scaling the Andes whilst carrying equipment for tourists. They also take on one of their weirdest challenges as they attempt the ‘danza de tijeras’ - scissor dancing. Comedy Central, 9pm.

VERY IMPORTANT PERSON: There’s an amazing comedy cast in this vintage movie, even if it only got a lukewarm critical reception on its 1961 release. James Robertson Justice plays an egotistical professor who winds up in a German POW camp. The movie also stars Stanley Baxter, Eric Sykes, John Le Mesurier, Leslie Phillips and Jeremy Lloyd, before he went on to write comedies such as Are You Being Served? and 'Allo 'Allo!. Talking Pictures TV, 6pm.

FOOTBALL GENIUS: Tim Vine hosts a new comedy quiz in which two teams of football supporters, managed by The Chase’s Paul Sinha and Olympic Gold medallist Sam Quek, pit their wits in a series of football related questions. Episode 1 features West Bromwich Albion v Wimbledon. ITV4, 10pm

COMEDY CENTRAL AT THE COMEDY STORE: Married couple Harriet Kemsley and Bobby Mair both host and perform their own individual stand up sets in tonight’s edition. Rhys James is the third wheel… Comedy Central, 11pm

SICK OF IT: Karl Pilkington’s first scripted comedy drama comes to Sky, with Ricky Gervais’s former sidekick playing a crotchety cabbie, also called Karl, who’s living with his Auntie Norma while trying to get over the loss of his long-term girlfriend. As he muddles through life, his closest mate is the voice in his head, an uncensored version of himself who just won’t shut up. SOUTH PARK: The 22nd series of the offensive and outrageous animation kicks off, arriving in the UK just one day after its American debut. Comedy Central, 10pm
